Job Description

Overview: 

The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic will perform proactive preventative/predictive maintenance and repairs on buildings, grounds, roll-up doors, and forklifts in an automated food processing facility while keeping a high regard for employee safety, food quality and efficiency.

Here's what you'll do: 

  • Ensures self and coworkers are compliant with all safety rules and regulations (LOTO, fall protection, hot work, etc.)
  • Have the experience/knowledge of plumbing, electrical, air handlers, and building mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Be able to repair and maintain building structure, restrooms, and roof.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative and corrective work for all roll-up doors and electric forklifts.
  • Identify and execute improvements on equipment, documentation, work systems, and processes.
  • Collaborates with different levels of employees in various departments of the facility through face-to-face, telephone, email, and radio communications.
  • Research system and component specifications using equipment manuals, schematics, parts breakdowns, online information, and vendor communication.
  • Dismantle and reassemble complex pieces of machinery in an efficient, precise, and reliable manner.
  • Operates cutting, welding, and various other fabrication equipment to cut, form, and/or join materials.
  • Creates/modifies work orders in Computerized Maintenance Management System, and documents details of work performed.
  • Research parts, gather quotes, and generates requests.
  • Escalate technical, procedural, and personnel related issues to direct lead or supervisor as necessary.
  • Work with moral integrity on a consistent basis.
  • Performs other assigned duties and projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Pay Range: $34.50 - $39.00 per hour. Final Compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.

Qualifications

Here's what you'll bring to the table:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Technical degree and three years or more of related experience and/or training in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Effective English communication is a must, bilingual is preferred.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is preferred.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and present out general business items to groups of coworkers, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be able to frequently move items weighing up to 25 pounds as needed.
  • To successfully support the business needs, the employee will be expected to work overtime, weekends, and rotating/varying shifts, as well as be available for emergency call-out as needed.
