Formed in 2020, Neptune Pacific Line acquired Pacific Direct Line, bringing together two of the South Pacific’s top shipping and logistics companies to support the full supply chain of our customers in the region. NPDL is part of The Wonderful Company headquartered in the USA (including Fiji Water).
NPDL operates 11 containerships, moving +240k TEU between AU, NZ and the Pacific Islands, as well as the USA. We have strong partnerships with other shipping line, moving cargo across 25 customer destinations in 16 countries.
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Group Equipment Manager to lead our logistics function across NPDL’s network. This is a pivotal role with accountability for the performance of NPDL’s own container fleet, as well as third-party flows managed through our Agency business.

What you will do in the role:
- Lead & Inspire: Provide clear direction, leadership, and support to equipment teams across all geographies, building capability and accountability.
- Create Vision: Develop and execute a comprehensive container fleet strategy that aligns with business growth, market needs, and cost efficiency objectives.
- Drive Change: Implement new systems, processes, and tools that enhance planning, performance reporting, and decision-making.
- Optimise Performance: Ensure equipment flows and inventories are managed effectively, balancing customer requirements, costs, and service standards.
- Enable Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Trade, and Agency teams to ensure forward planning translates into accurate equipment positioning and optimal fleet use.
- Focus on Data & Insight: Build high-quality, accurate reporting frameworks that provide transparency and enable smarter decisions across the business.
- Deliver Results: Own the budget process, vendor contracts, and container lease agreements, ensuring strong financial outcomes and compliance.
Qualifications
What you will bring to the table:
- Proven Leadership: 10+ years of experience leading teams in shipping, logistics or freight, with a track record of driving success.

- Tech Savvy: Advanced proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to support decision-making and reporting.
- Collaborative Flexibility: Work seamlessly with colleagues at all levels and embrace opportunities to travel across the Pacific Islands.
This is a full-time permanent role based in Auckland. As you have previously worked in the shipping industry (or similar), you will know a level of flexibility is required at times to work extended hours including weekends, public holidays, etc. In return we offer a challenging and stimulating environment. You will have the right to live and work in New Zealand at the time of applying. The successful candidate may be subject to undergo a Police Check and/or Pre-Employment Drug Test.
