Job Description

​​We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Central Valley health and wellness team. The position will be based at our wellness center in Lost Hills, located within our pistachio processing and packaging facility. The Medical Assistant will work with team of clinicians, health coaches and social workers to provide wellness care to the company's employees and families. ​Work will be split across clinical care and medical reception. 

​Clinic care:  

  • ​Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patient histories and vital signs. 
  • ​Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments. 
  • ​Administer injections and applies dressings as instructed. 
  • ​Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization. 
  • ​Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments. 
  • ​Order and maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment. 
  • ​Maintain Electronic Medical Records, files and other information. 
  • ​Compile and condense technical and statistical data for reports and records. 
  • ​Maintain equipment in a clean and safe condition always. 

​Medical reception: 

  • ​Welcome patients/clients/visitors to the clinic in a manner that is helpful and friendly; determines purpose of visit and direct to appropriate person or program. 
  • ​Provide information to callers; transfer calls as needed; work with Health and Wellness team to ensure adequate phone coverage at all times. 
  • ​Schedule patients for clinic visits; call patients to confirm; follow up with patients for missed appointments  
  • ​Maintain business office inventory and equipment  
  • ​Register new patients and update/verify existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information and eligibility status that is accurate and up-to-date. 
  • ​Enter and compile technical and statistical data for reports and records. 
  • ​Manage and update the clinic staff schedules to reflect patient care, blocked time, personal time, etc. 
  • ​Unlock and lock clinic rooms, cabinets, and drawers to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained. 
  • ​Other duties as assigned​

Qualifications

  • Written and verbal fluency in Spanish required
  • Excellent communication skills at level necessary for taking patients’ medical histories, understanding provider and supervisor instructions, and for accurately documenting patients’ medical information.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a high-stress and fast-moving environment
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the importance of confidentiality and non-disclosure according to the general standards set forth by HIPAA.
  • Culturally sensitive and demonstrated ability and effectiveness working with ethnically diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to work on an as-needed basis in order to meet operational needs of the clinic and the mobile unit.

Education & Experience

  • Successful completion of a medical assistant program.
  • Phlebotomy certification and experience required.
  • Minimum of 1+ years' experience.
  • The ability to work with little direct supervision.

Pay Rate: $21.00/hour.
