Finance Officer - Disbursement

Neptune Pacific Direct Line (NPDL) operates market leading brands in shipping and logistics services across 18 Pacific Island markets. NPDL is the largest carrier in its core Pacific Island markets operating eight container ships and servicing 18 Pacific Island nations.
The Finance Officer, Disbursements is part of the team responsible for the disbursement function within the agency and will actively seek to improve and add value to the function, as well as provide support to the wider Finance team when required. The Finance Officer, Disbursements must ensure best practice is applied within the policy frameworks of the organization to ensure efficient and ethical operation.
Job Description
- Check coding on supplier invoices to ensure correct classification
- Analyse the General Ledger accounts related to disbursements
- Extract the freight report and post adjustments in accounting systems
- Reconcile and perform the necessary data entry in the principals software systems
- Prepare & submit monthly disbursement accounts within the timelines & format agreed with the principals
- Prepare invoices in the format required by the principal and send them the same
- Compile and submit the cash position for net reimbursement of funds or payments to the principal
- Allocate payments from the principal in the accounting systems
- Prepare the monthly reconciliation of the disbursement general ledger accounts
- Handle queries relating to the disbursement accounts
- Identify improvements and support implementation of disbursement & related Finance processes
- Participate and assist in projects that contribute to the overall performance of the Finance team
- Any other duties as required
Qualifications
- Diploma / Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related
- Minimum two years’ experience in similar role
- Proficient in the use of MS Office applications with experience in handling large volumes of data entry
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and have good time management skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Pro-active team player with a positive attitude
