In Delano, we serve over 1,800 students in grades TK-12, while in Lost Hills, we serve over 400 students in grades TK-12.

Job Description
The SPED Teacher's role will be to create a supportive learning environment in which you will help your students meet their learning goals. Through interesting and diverse methods successful strategies to reach IEP goals and access grade level curriculum. You’ll oversee their progress by tracking their assignment and exam grades, to provide useful feedback. WCPA teachers are results-driven educators with experience in, and commitment to, standards-based curriculum and the use of data and assessments to drive instructional decisions.

- Data & Assessment: Regularly engages in individual student case management, by proactively making data-driven decision
- Innovation: Develops and executes SPED IEP goals following the regulations associated with federal and state guidelines in collaboration with the support team.
- Professional Growth: Committed to continuous growth, actively engages in professional development opportunities, and contributes to our professional learning community. Thrive in an environment of high expectations and collaboration to grow and hone their craft.
- Community Outreach: Demonstrates commitment to the community by communicating regularly with families and attending key community events
Pay Range: $64,444-$107,510. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- A California Education Specialist Credential (mild/mod and mod/severe). PIP/STSP/Waivers will be considered.
- Familiarity with and/or the ability to learn SIRUS, IEP writing, and Special Ed Reporting Software
- Familiarity with and/or the ability to learn RTI, Co-teaching, Collaboration, Push-In, Pull-out, Learning Lab Intervention, and small-group teaching models
- Demonstrated mastery of classroom skills including classroom management, planning, assessment, and instructional practice
- Proficiency with various technologies and teaching tools
- Bilingual ability preferred
Skills, Knowledge:
- Preparing and implementing lesson plans that lead to student understanding based on state standards
- Providing an effective learning environment that reflects and facilitates student achievement
- Assessing student progress and maintaining accurate records
- Writing and conducting IEPs and facilitating IEP meetings
- Proctoring Formal Assessments (Woodcock-Johnson)
- Updating Service Logs and Files
- Communicate with partnering agencies
- Participating in SST Meetings
- Maintaining frequent communication with students, students' families, colleagues, and the Special Education Director
- Participating regularly in professional development opportunities
- Appropriately communicates and interacts with other professional staff in academic planning and school committee work.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and extra-curricular/school-related activities and committees.
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional growth and works with administrators to formulate and complete professional development plans.
- Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsible.
Working Conditions:
- Environment: School environment; fast-paced work, constant interruptions.
- Physical requirements: Hearing and speaking to exchange information, make presentations, and communicate over the telephone; seeing to read, prepare, and proofread documents and view computer monitors; sitting or standing for extended periods; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment; kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, to retrieve and store files and supplies; lifting light objects; ability to go to sites apart from primary office to conduct business.
