Wonderful Scholar Summer Internship, Farming

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible Wonderful Scholar for a full-time 8-week summer internship. In this position, you will gain hands-on experience under the guidance of our talented professionals. 

You will work closely with our farming leadership to understand cultural practices and doing compliance checks on internal data. 

This position will be based onsite (not remote) at Wonderful Citrus located in McFarland, CA and Bakersfiled, CA.  This schedule for this internship is 40 hours per week Monday-Friday. Days of the week and work hours may change due to business needs. 

Here's what you'll do:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Assisting farm field supervisors with daily tasks and projects 
• Assisting existing management staff in evaluating, analyzing, designing, and maintaining all Farming Department data 
• Assimilating and analyzing production and farm-related data such as yield, size and quality information 

Here's what you'll bring to the table:

• Must be a Wonderful Scholar pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Crop Science, Soil Science, Fruit Science, Soil Production, Agricultural Management Systems or related studies required
• Demonstrate interest in Farming/ Pest Control Operations
• Must have a Junior or Senior college academic level with a minimum of 3.0 GPA 
• Must have started core concentration classes in related field 
• Computer proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Access, Word, etc. 
• Must have excellent communication skills-verbal and written 
• High attention to detail 
• Team oriented and have passion for learning 

Pay Rate: $18.00/hour
