We are seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our EHS Team and Security Program for POM Wonderful. The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager is responsible for the management of safety training and programs within all facility departments, maintaining records of compliance, facilitating accident and incident reporting, and providing a consistent presence in all areas of the facility to monitor and encourage safe work practices and security procedures.
This role will be required onsite 5 days a week based out of our POM Wonderful headquarters in Del Rey, CA near Fresno.
Job Description
- Plans and implements safety & environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
- Develop a team of safety coordinators, providing constructive feedback and growth opportunities to build knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Advises leadership team on EHS compliance concerns and preventative actions
- Implements trainings for employees pertaining to work site safety practices
- Tracks training program and ensures compliance
- Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where necessary
- Manages emergency response incidents, conducts post-accident investigation, and supports implementation of corrective actions
- Develops, evaluates, and upgrades EHS programs
- Maintain environmental reports including Storm water permits, SPCC, CALARP, RMP, etc.
- Conducts various audits and corrective action follow-up
- Plans and conducts safety meetings and certifications
- Maintains a presence and provides safety observation on the floor and is available to answer employee questions and seek employee input related to environmental health & safety
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in environmental, health & safety management or related field with at least 1 year of supervisory experience
- Experience in OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory requirements preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Capable to perform PDCA problem solving and execute implementation plans
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of industry best practices
- Proficient in MS Office and Enablon
- Must have acceptable current drivers license
- Requires the ability to meet physical demands of position such as walking, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders and stairs, bending, squatting, and crawling in tight spaces to access work sites safely
Pay Range: $100,000 - $120,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
