Infrastructure Mechanic

As a key member of the Infrastructure Mechanic team, you will perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance services. Your duties will include maintaining machinery, mechanical equipment, and the operations of facilities supporting utilities such as boilers, ammonia systems, and compressed air systems. You are expected to carry out all responsibilities safely and comply with all POM policies.

Hourly Rate: $20.00-$26.00

What our Infrastructure Mechanic will do:

• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of infrastructure equipment and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment during machine services.
• Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Make repairs to equipment using sound mechanical practices and techniques.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of facilities supporting machinery.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Develop welding skills for ARC, TIG, and MIG process
• Safely complete electrical troubleshooting and work as assigned based on electrical qualified person requirements based on our Electrical Safety program.
• Must be able to demonstrate competency with the boiler and steam systems.
• Must be able to safely operate the facilities ammonia systems and condensing units.
• Must have general common knowledge of the facilities HVAC/R systems.
• Maintain facilities documents (PM’s, Work orders, and SOP’s) in an orderly fashion.
• Provide leadership and guidance to all customers within the facility.

Skills & experiences we are seeking for this role:

• Proficiency in adding and subtracting two-digit numbers, as well as multiplying and dividing by 10s and 100s.
• Capability to perform these mathematical operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Competence in applying common sense to follow detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions.
• Ability to address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Maintenance of basic computer skills to fulfill job responsibilities.
• The job duties frequently require the employee to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must also often lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Performing this job frequently exposes the employee to outdoor weather conditions and extreme cold.
• Understanding of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
• Operation of HMI controls.
• Knowledge of heat transfer, pressurized steam, boilers, and various techniques for processing liquids.
• Understanding of the processes involved in chemically treating water, including the use of chemicals, their interactions, warning signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
• Minimum 2 years machine operating experience
