Job Description
- Oversee the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions of NWVL, supervising a team of 3 specialists.
- Responsible for all tasks related to the AP and AR modules in Oracle
- Responsible for the month end closing of the AP, AR and PO modules and related month end reports.
- Responsible for account analysis and preparation of assigned month end journal entries.
- Preparation of the monthly management KPI reports.
- Preparation of assigned schedules for the annual financial audit.
- Review the work of the AP/AR team including invoice batches, payments by cheque and online banking, accruals, and related account reconciliations.
- Cashflow management in relation to all AP payments including liaising with the relevant stakeholders to prepare weekly payment forecasts.
- Review and effective follow up of various AP related reports including the AP Trial Balance, Invoice Ageing, invoices on hold, and the AP & PO Accrual Reconciliation Report.
- Coordination with the Purchasing and Operational department to ensure efficient and accurate purchase order processing, matching and resolution of discrepancies.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, legislation and the appropriate financial regulations & controls are in place and in use at all times.
- Maintaining effective relationships with critical vendors & the operational team through timely and accurate payment and response inquiries
- Leading continuous improvements initiatives for the Finance department.
- Other analysis and/or duties as directed by the Director Finance
- Supports organizational quality and environmental initiatives across the site.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with major in Accounting, Finance or related area;
AND
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar role;
- Membership of a professional accounting body
Preferred
Manufacturing experience
